I bought this handheld steam cleaner specifically to freshen up my couch, and it actually worked better than I expected. It heats up quickly and has strong enough steam to loosen dirt and stains without soaking the fabric. I tried a few of the different attachments and the small brush was perfect for getting into the textured areas. It’s lightweight, easy to hold, and comes with all the accessories you need. For the price, it’s a great little tool to have at home for quick cleaning jobs. I’ve only used it on my couch so far, but I’m planning to try it on grout next.

Customer Reviews
This spin mop is a game-changer! I have bad knees and can’t bend over easily, but the long handle and wheels let me mop without pain. The spinning works great—my floors are dry in minutes instead of hours. The six heads are a nice bonus; I’ve been using it for months and they’re still going strong. Much better than my old mop and bucket.
I was skeptical, but this mop is worth every penny. The stainless steel parts feel solid, and the 360 spin really does get more water out than my old pedal system. It’s easy to push around with the wheels, and I love that I don’t have to bend over. Only downside is the bucket takes up a bit of space in my laundry room, but that’s a small trade-off.

Customer Reviews
I only buy Mr. Clean to do floors, clean cabinets and walls along with many other cleaning hacks. The lasting smell is great and there are so many different scents to choose from. The price is great and the product is quality and very effective. Easy to use and last longer than other brands due to concentration. Just add water and ready to use.
I love the way this smells. It keeps my floors clean and bathrooms and the rest of the house. I like being able to mix my own bottles. I can make it stronger if needed. It works amazing with a Mr. Clean sponge for the bathtub and showers. I made a bottle to spray in the shower after my grandchildren take their daily baths, I spray the whole shower/tub, let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes, then spray the cleaner off everything. It keeps the bathroom clean. The quality is great and it’s worth every penny when you’re still raising kids. Super easy to use and mix your own bottles.

Customer Reviews
I admit it: I didn’t really ‘need’ anything from Amazon, especially not floor cleaner, but this caught my eye because it is bright pink and looked really fun. With the amount of mopping we do (we have a dog and three cats) I typically buy that lavender-scented ‘Fabuloso’ floor cleaner for like $2 at any grocery store because it’s cheap and it smells nice. But I bought this ‘The Pink Stuff’ cleaner on a whim, when it wasn’t even needed. The day after this arrived, our main sewer line backed up into our basement. Once the water receded back down the drain, the basement *stunk* horribly. I noticed that one of the cats had added insult to injury by depositing a nice big poop on top of the pile of dried-up grossness stuck to the floor. I scooped everything up with old towels, starting from the point furthest from the drain, and when I got to the drain itself I saw toilet paper. It was then that I realized that I hadn’t just cleaned up a giant cat poop, it was human waste (probably my husband’s). So: what better time to use a highly-reviewed floor cleaner?!? I tried it with the ‘basement mop’ which was that ‘sponge with a wringer on a stick’ type of mop. I first mopped with hot water, then with hot water + this cleaner and it worked wonderfully. No odor (except the lovely scent of this cleaner) and no dirt or poop left behind! I threw that mop away, got a new one, and mopped again with hot water + this cleaner, just because I am a clean freak and had been so disgusted with the whole ordeal. It has been weeks and weeks and the tile floor is still sparkling! Once our old brand of cleaner is gone, I can’t wait to see what this does to our kitchen floors!
Love this! Doesn’t dry down sticky or leave a film. Smells amazing. Cleans my floors very well. You don’t have to use a ton of product to get your floors clean. Foams up nicely but not too much. Works great! Very easy to use!

Customer Reviews
Ok, so I got tired of streaking and hazy surface of my floors after using Murphy for a while. It was highly recommended, but it sure left a opaque film, no matter what I did … same with Method. Pretty desperate to get the original sheen on my floors, I went on a search and decided to get Zep: strong, but more than affordable. Today I vacuumed and mopped and – a miracle – my floors are super clean and shiny once again! Unbelievable – I thought it would take a few cleanings to get back to the original shine; nope, just this once and my floors are back in their shiny glory. Zep checks all the boxes: no streaks, great shine, and great value for the money. Highly recommend!
Love this stuff!!! We’ve had our kitchen flooring for 10 years and it had never really mattered what I used to mop with. Recently, it had gotten where everything I used left a sticky film. I googled what to use and found great reviews for ZEP and decided to give it a try & I’m so glad I did. No streaking & no sticky residue. Nothing but a clean floor. There aren’t instructions on dilution for the spray bottle so I searched online and found to use 1 tablespoon per 25 ounces of water. I thought it wasn’t enough but it made a perfect solution! This container will last for a very long time!! It also has a nice, clean smell and doesn’t smell of chemicals. Highly recommend ZEP!

Customer Reviews
My dog had an accident and the swiffer mop pads we tried to use to clean it weren’t getting rid of the urine scent. Researching the problem, I knew I needed an enzyme cleaner. This one was competitively priced, and because it is so concentrated I know it will last a long time. It took two rounds of cleaning with this product to get rid of the urine scent from our vinyl floors, though that may have just been user error on my part. The product has a lovely, pleasant scent, and I would use it even if I didn’t have pet odor to remove just for the scent alone. The product didn’t leave any strange residue on my floors, just cleaned and got the job done.
Great product! If you are looking for something to elimyodors and leaves a nice fresh smell this is it!

I have been using the Bona Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner Refill for a while now, and I can honestly say it has completely changed the way I clean my home. This product is everything I have ever wanted in a floor cleaner – easy to use, effective on different surfaces, and it leaves my home smelling fresh and clean without any harsh chemical scent. The first thing I love is how truly multi-surface this cleaner is. I have a combination of tile in the kitchen, laminate in the hallway, and vinyl flooring in the laundry room, and it works perfectly on all of them. I no longer have to switch between different cleaners for each area. I simply fill my Bona spray mop or spray bottle with this solution, and I can move seamlessly from one room to the next. The results are outstanding every time. The lemon mint scent is refreshing and not overpowering. It leaves the space smelling light and clean rather than heavy and artificial. I especially appreciate that it does not linger in a way that clashes with other home fragrances. It creates a bright, uplifting atmosphere after cleaning. One of my biggest concerns with floor cleaners in the past has been residues and streaks, but Bona truly delivers on its residue-free promise. My floors always dry fast and look spotless – no hazy film, no sticky feeling, and no constant re-cleaning to remove streaks. With pets and kids frequently running through the house, this makes my cleaning routine so much easier. The value of the large 128 fl oz refill bottle is fantastic. It lasts a long time even with frequent use, and refilling my spray mop is quick and mess-free. The bottle design makes pouring simple without splashing or wasting product, and I love that I am cutting down on extra plastic waste by reusing the original spray bottles. Cleaning with Bona is fast, efficient, and enjoyable. I can easily clean the entire main level of my home in less than half the time it used to take, thanks to how smoothly the mop glides when paired with this cleaner. The fact that I do not need to rinse afterward is a game changer – just spray, mop, and be done. Overall, this is hands down the best floor cleaning solution I have tried. It keeps my floors looking like new, saves me time, smells wonderful, and works across all my surfaces without any fuss. If you want your floors to have that just-cleaned freshness without extra effort or mess, I cannot recommend Bona Multi-Surface Floor Cleaner Refill enough. I will absolutely keep purchasing this, and it has become my one and only floor cleaner.
Love this floor cleaner. Has worked on vinyl flooring, stained concrete, and tile. The only thing I use now, and doesn’t leave streaks or a sticky mess.

Customer Reviews
I recently purchased the BISSELL CrossWave HydroSteam Deluxe Wet Dry Vac, and I’m absolutely thrilled with how well it works! It’s become an essential part of my cleaning routine…especially with having 4 dogs! The fact that this vacuum both vacuums and washes your floors at the same time is a total game-changer! I have hardwood floors, and the CrossWave does an excellent job of picking up dust, dirt, and debris while leaving the floors clean and shiny. The HydroSteam feature is amazing – it really helps break down stuck-on grime and bacteria, making my floors feel so much fresher than just a regular mop. The steam is gentle yet effective, and I love knowing I’m sanitizing as I clean. I love how versatile this model is. It works great on both hard floors and area rugs. I can easily switch between modes with the push of a button, making it perfect for my mixed flooring. It’s surprisingly lightweight for a multi-functional vacuum. The swivel steering makes it really easy to maneuver around furniture, and I don’t have to strain to get to corners or edges. The tank is easy to fill and empty, and the self-cleaning feature is a huge plus. The machine cleans itself after every use, which makes maintenance a breeze. I don’t have to worry about cleaning the brushes or hoses manually – they get cleaned automatically!
Update 12/09/23: I’ve included pictures of our tile floor types and they get cleaner with every cleaning! We now have a dog in our household along with 4 kitties and 4 humans, so TONS of fur and kitty litter, and human messes lol! I have been using ‘It’s Naturally Clean’ floor cleaner for all types of flooring and it’s awesome! It only takes one small capful per clean water reservoir and does a phenomenal job! It’s one I discovered on EWG’s website which is for sustainable, safe product information verified unbiased and is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transparency and health for all inhabitants of Earth, including non-humans. I still use the Hydrosteam every two weeks and am down to 2-3 clean tank refills and twice as many empty bin refills. I use the automatic clean function 2 times after each use and then thoroughly rinse everything, including the very front of the unit’s head where the roller resides, quickly under hot water in my laundry sink. I recently noticed a buildup of kitty litter beginning inside the suction tube, which is to be expected as I don’t vacuum nor sweep prior to using this machine and that is the purpose of kitty litter-to absorb moisture. So I used hot water to flush the tubing from where the dirty water reservoir would reside and ran the water through until it came clean and I’ve had no problems but will update if anything changes 👍🏽 I also recently brought this to my friend’s house where she has dark hardwood flooring throughout her 3900 sq. ft. house and every little speck of anything shows on it. She wanted to test it out and is also buying one because she was so impressed as was I and there were no streaks. We used the hard floor setting on her wood floors and the steam function on her tiled areas in bathrooms and laundry room. She was wearing a somewhat new pair of Nike shoes that’s she’s worn for a few months inside and outside, and after the cleaning of the first section of her floors, her shoes ‘squeaked’ on those areas-both tile and wood-but none of the others in her house and she said “I now understand what the saying squeaky clean means” lol! Needless to say she was impressed and is also going to buy the Naturally it’s Clean Floor Cleaner to use in her new Bissell Hydrosteam! *End Update* This is an almost perfect cleaning device! We have a 4 person household with 4 cats which includes lots of fur, food particles, and litter tracking. I do a full house (3000 sq. ft.) clean every two weeks and more than half of our house is tile and the remainder is high pile carpet. I thought purchasing this I would still have to use my Dyson vacuum to vacuum around the edges and corners of the tile floors. Fortunately this does not need to occur! I am truly amazed at the engineering that went into this tool and am still in awe of the suction power and steam mopping capabilities! The ceramic tile in our house has very wide but deep grout circa 2003 and was professionally cleaned upon moving into it in 2012. Over the years it has built up discolored residues in heavily used areas of the house mostly in the kitchen around the sink, dishwasher, and stove where the grout is very dark and dirty. This vac mop visibly and noticeably made a positive improvement upon the first use as I could literally see the grime being sucked up! I’ve used this twice so far and am so happy with my purchase. I’ve owned and own several Bissell products over the years-Big Green Carpet cleaner (which I sent to my mom a few years ago since she’s older and would rent carpet cleaners every few months to clean her expensive and almost 40 year old Persian rugs so I wanted to alleviate that taxing burden for her), steam mop, Pro Pet Revolution Carpet Cleaner, and pet mess hand wet/dry vacuum which looks like what some may know as a dust buster from back in the day). All these products are awesome except that the quality of the steam mop wasn’t up to my experience with Bissell standards that I’m accustomed. The steam mop was $70-80 new but I bought it used on Amazon in 12/2022 and it began leaking a couple of months ago which is a common problem with that model based upon reviews. My assumption is that you get what you pay for more often than not and same saying applies to Bissell. I store this Hydrosteam vac in the garage next to an outlet for the self-cleaning function which is loud and much louder than the actual cleaning functions. The self-cleaning capability is also awesome and works very well. I do it twice after use as per instructions and used the brush roll cleaning sample solution included, and follow the instructions for cleaning and storing except that I allow everything to thoroughly dry for several days before reassembly. This vac mop is much quieter than I expected and much quieter than my Dyson vac which is a huge plus for me and the kitties though they still don’t like it! I look forward to a future when human machines and motors have very little to nonexistent sound! The cons of this product for me are minor and do not warrant a return for something that saves me much time and energy with cleaning obligations. The cons so far are: 1) I wish the cord was slightly longer and that the cord holder clip held it in place a little tighter. I had more issues with the cord dislodging during my first use so that could be due to user error; however, I was more mindful of trying to keep it in place during my second use 2) The size of this unit is great and it’s very lightweight and the maneuverability is impressive! The only place I cannot use this for my tile is around 1 toilet (3 total toilets in house) on one of the sides nor around the backside of any of the toilets. But I’ve just modified my cleaning regiment to use my sponge to clean these areas during bathroom cleaning. 3) I wish the wastewater/dirty water tank had a larger capacity. Actually it would be better if both tanks had larger capacities, but the clean water tank capacity has allowed two cleaning passes per one emptying of the dirty water tank. However, I do hold the trigger the majority of the time I’m using this vac mop and a trigger lock would also be a nice addition. I was dumping the dirty water tank into the toilet but this was messier for me so I now just use the kitchen sink with garbage disposer. I give the dirty water tank a rinse after each dumping except I don’t rinse the filter, which isn’t actually that dirty even at the end, until I’m finished cleaning. Most of the dirty material ends up in the dirty water tank plastic sifting part which I will empty into the garbage can opposed to garbage disposal sink if it’s really full of mostly cat fur which occurs after the kitchen and the kitties ADU area. For more than half of 3000 sq. ft. of use with this vac mop, for which I use the steam setting the entire time, I empty and refill the tanks 3-4 times for clean water tank and 6-8 times for the dirty water tank. I was using Bissell’s Natural Pet Floor Cleaner for Crosswave machine which I had purchased for my Bissell Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner because I don’t like all of the excess, unnecessary, and unhealthy chemicals used in many cleaning products these days. I’m going to try a truly ‘natural’ floor cleaning product next time I clean with this unit and will update my review based upon that experience and also provide pictures of my tile floors. I was so excited to leave a review for this lol because it is really awesome and I’m so impressed overall! Oh last point to mention is that I do have to make a few passes over some dried on gunk usually food related and/or pet related but this unit still saves me soooo much time and energy. I’ve found the most efficient solution to clean these dried on filths is to make a pass over it, holding the trigger, and letting the cleaning solution soak while I clean around it and then I’ll come back to it and clean it up which sometimes does take more than once. I’ll also clean these spots from different angles depending on the grooves and fissures in the tiles. I have recommended this cleaning unit to everyone I know because it is such a beneficial addition to my cleaning routine and really provides a deep thorough cleaning with ease of use and also mostly cleans itself at least for the brushroll which would be the most time consuming part if manual cleaning was necessitated.
10. Shark Steam & Scrub Steam Mop – All-in-One Scrubbing Sanitizing with LED, 4 Pads, XL Tank, Swivel – S8001
The Shark Steam & Scrub combines scrubbing and sanitizing in one tool. It offers three steam modes for different messes, from quick cleanups to deep stains. The XL water tank and LED headlights reveal hidden debris. The scrubbing pads are washable, and the swivel steering makes maneuvering easy. It’s a versatile steam mop for various sealed hard floors.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ Scrubbing and sanitizing in one step
- ✓ Three steam modes: Light, Normal, Deep
- ✓ XL water tank for longer cleaning sessions

Why We Recommend It
We recommend the Shark for its scrubbing power—the pads actually agitate the floor to lift stuck-on grime, while the steam sanitizes. The three steam settings give you control based on the mess. The large tank means fewer refills, and the headlights are a surprisingly useful feature for seeing dirt in dark corners.

Customer Reviews
I’m in love! This steamer is fantastic! I have 3 cats, a dog and two grown men in my home and keeping up with the floors was a nightmare! The water tank is easy to fill and replace. There are three steam levels, which heat very quickly! Performance has been steady for each setting, and the steam output on the highest is perfect for my needs. The pads are easily removable and washable. It takes a little oomph to get it around the corners, but is otherwise easy to manage.
LOVE IT! Love the scrubbing circles with this updated steam mop! I have multiple dogs and during rainy/mud season I can’t live without my quick and handy steam mop! I am already a Shark fan and this did not disappoint! Long cord, quick start, decent cool down, and after market options for extra pads available. Three settings available depending on how bad it is. I use it on my vinyl plank in the kitchen, hard wood every where else, and tile in the bathroom. So easy and quick it saves my back from mops or hand washing. My floors get really bad really quick with 4 dogs and a husband in construction that refuses to take his work boots off until his day is done!
Complete Buying Guide for Best Floor Cleaner
Essential Factors We Consider
Choosing the best floor cleaner starts with your floor type. Hardwood, tile, laminate, and stone each have specific needs—some cleaners are too harsh for wood, while others may not tackle grout well. Consider whether you need a multi-surface formula or a specialized one. Next, think about the cleaning mechanism: steam mops offer sanitizing power, concentrated liquids are economical, and probiotic cleaners target odors naturally. Ease of use matters too—look for features like lightweight designs, easy-fill tanks, and user-friendly controls. Finally, check for residue-free formulas to avoid sticky films and streaks.
Budget Planning
Floor cleaners range from budget-friendly concentrates like Mr. Clean (under $10) to premium steam mops ($200+). Set a budget based on your needs: if you mop daily, an economical concentrate may suffice. For occasional deep cleans, a steam mop might be worth the investment. Remember to factor in ongoing costs like replacement pads or refills. Our list offers options for every budget, from the best budget pick (#3) to high-end robots (#7).
Final Thoughts
The best floor cleaner is the one that fits your specific situation—floor types, mess level, and physical ability. Don’t just chase the highest price; a simple concentrate can outperform a fancy mop if it suits your surfaces. Always read labels for compatibility, and when in doubt, test in an inconspicuous area. With the right product, mopping becomes quicker, easier, and more effective.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use any floor cleaner on all surfaces?
A: No. Always check the label for surface compatibility. Wood floors need gentle, pH-neutral cleaners, while tile can handle stronger formulas. Using the wrong cleaner can damage finishes or leave residue.
Q: How often should I mop my floors?
A: High-traffic areas like kitchens and entryways may need weekly mopping. Low-traffic rooms can be done every 2-4 weeks. With a good cleaner, you’ll notice when floors start looking dull or sticky.
Q: Are steam mops better than traditional mops?
A: Steam mops sanitize with heat and often require no chemicals, making them ideal for allergies and pet messes. However, they can be heavier and need electricity. Traditional mops with a good cleaner are lighter and more portable.
Q: Do concentrated floor cleaners really save money?
A: Yes. Because you dilute them, a small bottle lasts much longer than ready-to-use formulas. Our best budget pick (#3) is a concentrated example that offers great value.
Q: Can floor cleaners be used on car interiors?
A: Some multi-surface cleaners are safe for car interiors, but always test first. For dedicated auto cleaning, check our guide on best cleaner for car interior. Many of the steam cleaners on our list, like product #1, also work well for detailing car interiors and windows—see our best glass cleaner for car windows for specific glass needs.
