  • Incredible range of motion for perfect ergonomic positioning.

  • Doesn’t require any desk modification or clamps.
Cons:
  • Takes up more footprint space on your desk than a clamp-on arm.

  • Initial assembly requires a screwdriver.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Great product for when you need a sturdy stand and can’t find the original. No missing parts. great adjustment, ease to put together, great movement. No storage needed.”

Customer Review: “Not only was this screen stand easy to put together, it’s extremely sturdy and well-built. I have no worries that this might topple over at all. This thing is absolutely solid, and I’m glad that I went with my decision- because believe me- it was really hard! I was choosing between like three different set-ups, and I’m really glad that I picked this one.Aside from how solid it is, it looks good too! Top quality, for sure. BTW mine is on a rizer like monitor stand and is holding a 27″ LG Monitor.”

This stand wins on value and style. It’s incredibly affordable but doesn’t feel cheap. The wood grain looks fantastic next to IKEA’s pine or oak desks, creating a cohesive, warm workspace. The two-tier storage is genuinely useful, turning the stand into a mini-desk organiser. • Sturdy particleboard construction feels durable for its class.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I purchased two of these BONTEC monitor risers for my office setup, and they’ve transformed my workspace. The soft pink finish adds a chic pop of color and the shelves are the ideal height for my dual monitors. No more craning my neck up or down — everything is at eye level, which makes long workdays much more comfortable.Assembly was quick and straightforward, and once built, the stands feel sturdy and well-made. I like the two-tier design: the open shelf space keeps my desk organized, while the cable slots and phone holder help reduce clutter. It’s functional storage disguised as stylish décor. These stands have helped me create an organized, functional, attractive desk space that works almost as hard as I do. 🙂 If you’re looking for a way to elevate your monitors and your desk aesthetic, this riser is a smart, affordable choice. Durable, easy to assemble, and genuinely ergonomic — I’m very happy with the upgrade.”

Customer Review: “I just bought two of these stands. They are both the 2 tier, but one is the 16 inch and the other is the 21 inch. They each took less than ten minutes to put together. The drill holes are awesome and the best I’ve seen yet. I’ve put my fair share of particle board together, including two, large, heavy-as-a-horses-arse, 12 cube bookshelves by myself. Drill holes are imperative to things being put together right. And these little stands are great. If you use the cam locks correctly and secure everything together, the stand is stable. I have a monitor on one stand and a 27″ iMac on the other and the stands do not bow at all. They don’t even seem to notice the weight of my iMac. I love that I can slide my keyboard under the larger stand, and put my planners and such in the other shelves. The phone holder is useless for my phone. If future versions of this were made, I would say ditch the phone holder and put something else there or nothing at all. My phone is too big and wouldn’t fit, but pens and other things don’t fit either, so I turned the stand so that the holder is in the back. Also, if you get the 21 inch stand and don’t get the extended directions for 2 tiers, I’ve uploaded an image of the directions that came with the 16″ two tier, which includes that extra image of how to put the 2nd tier in. The 21” stand didn’t come with the right instructions. Hopefully Amazon doesn’t turn my image sideways as has happened before, but you could always just copy the image and turn it on your own computer. For assembly, I didn’t follow the directions exactly. I put one side in first, then the 2nd tier, turned it on it’s side on the floor so the “L” shape helped hold it together, and then added the second side, pushing it all together. Then I tightened all the cam locks. However, I have small hands and arms, if you’re a person with larger hands and arms, I’m not sure how easy it would be for you to put your hand in there (the cam lock is between the two tiers) because it’s only about 2 inches wide between the tiers. But maybe a longer/larger screwdriver would help if the space is too small.I love these stands. I was watching a video on increasing positive energy and they said looking up helps. They said try thinking a positive thought while looking down, and vice versa. The direction our face is pointed makes it easier or harder to think positively. I watched this video after I ordered this stand. I was worried because my computer screen is considerably higher now and I’m short. But now I’m looking more in the up direction and sitting here typing this, I feel more positive, organized and happy with my desk area. So I would buy these again and also recommend them to others.”

4. ErGear Single Monitor Arm

ErGear Adjustable Monitor Arm for 13-34

The ErGear monitor arm is a clamp-on or grommet-mount solution that offers incredible flexibility for your IKEA desk. It supports a wide range of monitors from 13″ to 34″ and up to 19.8 lbs. The gas spring mechanism provides smooth, effortless height adjustment up to 22.6 inches. It also offers extensive horizontal reach and full tilt, swivel, and rotation, making it easy to share your screen or find the perfect viewing angle without straining.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ Gas spring for smooth, one-handed height and angle adjustments
  • ✓ Holds large ultrawide monitors up to 34 inches
  • ✓ Dual mounting options: sturdy C-clamp or desk grommet
  • ✓ Integrated cable management channel for a clean look
  • ✓ High weight capacity ensures stability for heavier screens

Why We Recommend It

This arm is for the user who wants maximum adjustability and a truly floating monitor look above their IKEA desk. The gas spring is a luxury feature at this price point, making daily positional changes effortless. It’s exceptionally stable, and the clamp is robust enough for even the thickest IKEA tabletop edges. It’s the definitive upgrade if you want to reclaim every inch of desk space.

Best For

Users with large, heavy monitors (especially ultrawides) and those who frequently change their viewing position (e.g., switching between sitting and standing on a sit-stand IKEA desk). It’s also ideal for anyone who prioritizes a minimalist, cable-free desk aesthetic.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Exceptionally smooth gas spring height adjustment.
  • Excellent stability even with large, heavy monitors.
  • Versatile clamp or grommet mounting options.
  • Frees up 100% of desk surface underneath.
Cons:
  • Clamp may require careful positioning on very thin IKEA tabletops.
  • Initial setup and tension adjustment can be a bit fiddly.
  • The arm itself has a presence; not as “invisible” as a fixed riser.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This monitor arm is a game-changer for my IKEA BEKANT desk. The clamp is super secure and didn’t damage the surface at all. I have a 32-inch curved monitor, and the arm holds it perfectly with no sag. The gas spring makes raising and lowering it so easy—I can do it with one finger. The cable management is a nice bonus. My desk has never looked so clean and I have so much more room now. Worth every penny.”

Customer Review: “Assembly was straightforward, and the instructions were clear. The build quality feels premium—all metal and no plastic parts that worry me. I mounted it on my IKEA desk with the C-clamp, and it’s rock solid. The range of motion is fantastic; I can swing the monitor completely out of the way when needed. For the price, this offers features you’d find in much more expensive arms.”

5. WALI PTT001-B Monitor Stand

WALI Adjustable Computer Monitor Stand with Under-Desk Storage for Lap

This is another variant from WALI, offering a similar clamp-on, under-desk storage concept but with slightly different height adjustment options (4.5″, 5.3″, 6.1″). The principle is the same: a sturdy metal shelf for your monitor that installs beneath your IKEA desk, with a wire basket hanging below for your keyboard and other items. It’s a fantastic space-saving hack that instantly creates a more spacious and organized desktop.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ Clamp-on installation preserves every inch of desktop space
  • ✓ Three height settings (4.5″, 5.3″, 6.1″) for ergonomic setup
  • ✓ Large, ventilated metal platform for stability and cooling
  • ✓ Includes a roomy under-desk storage basket
  • ✓ Simple, tool-free installation on most desks

Why We Recommend It

If the previous WALI model’s heights don’t quite suit your IKEA desk’s specific dimensions, this PTT001-B model offers a slightly different range. It’s just as reliable and well-built. The concept is so effective because it turns the negative space under your desk into valuable real estate. For IKEA desks with limited surface area, this transformation is almost magical.

Best For

IKEA desk owners who need a taller lift than the standard model provides or who simply prefer this model’s specific bracket design. It’s also a great choice for anyone wanting to completely hide their keyboard and mouse when not in use.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Frees up the entire desktop surface for other tasks.
  • Under-desk basket provides hidden, convenient storage.
  • Multiple height options to match your desk and chair ergonomics.
  • Very stable once properly clamped to the desk.
Cons:
  • Like its sibling, it has fixed heights with no micro-adjustments.
  • The basket can rattle slightly if your desk is bumped.
  • Installation requires enough clearance under your desk to access the clamp.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Perfect for my small IKEA LINNMON desk. I was able to get my monitor to the perfect eye level, and now my keyboard lives under the desk. It feels so much more spacious. The metal is thick and sturdy, and the clamp hasn’t moved an inch in months. Installation took all of 5 minutes. Highly recommend for anyone with a cramped desk.”

Customer Review: “I have an IKEA ALEX drawer unit as my desk, and the clamp fits perfectly on the front edge. The 6.1-inch height setting is exactly what I needed. The storage basket is surprisingly roomy—my full-sized keyboard and mouse fit in there with room to spare. It’s made my workspace so much cleaner. Great product.”

It features a tempered glass base and a steel pole, giving it a sleek, modern look. It supports monitors from 13-32 inches weighing up to 44 lbs and offers -15° to +10° tilt, an impressive -70° to +70° swivel, 360° rotation, and 5 levels of height adjustment. The tempered glass base is a standout feature, making this stand look less bulky and more integrated with a modern IKEA desk like the BEKANT. The swivel range is wider than most, which is fantastic for sharing your screen with a colleague or for multi-monitor pivot setups. It’s a stable, attractive, and highly functional freestanding solution that won’t clash with your IKEA furniture’s design language.

Anyone who wants a freestanding stand but prefers a more contemporary, less industrial look than a full-metal base. It’s also perfect for users who need an exceptionally wide swivel range for screen sharing or specific ergonomic arrangements.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Elegant tempered glass base looks great on any desk.
  • Incredibly wide swivel angle for maximum flexibility.
  • Stable and secure without needing to clamp or drill.
  • Multiple height settings offer good customization.
Cons:
  • The glass base, while stylish, can show fingerprints and dust easily.
  • Height adjustment requires removing and re-adding pins, not a smooth gas spring.
  • May not be as rock-solid as heavier all-metal stands with very large monitors.

7. HUANUO Dual Monitor Stand

HUANUO Dual Monitor Stand for 13-34 Inch Displays, Adjustable Height,

This dual monitor stand is a fantastic solution for IKEA desk users with two screens. It uses a single, sturdy base with a vertical pole to stack two monitors, saving a tremendous amount of desktop space compared to two individual stands or arms. It supports two 13″-34″ monitors with VESA mounts and holds up to 44 lbs total. The top and bottom arms offer independent -15° to +10° tilt and +/-50° swivel, giving you complete control over your viewing angles.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ Vertical stacking design saves significant desk space
  • ✓ Supports two large monitors (up to 34″ each)
  • ✓ Independent adjustment for each monitor’s tilt and swivel
  • ✓ Sturdy tempered glass base and steel construction
  • ✓ Includes cable management clips to tidy wires

Why We Recommend It

For the dual-monitor IKEA desk user, this is a top-tier space optimizer. Instead of two bases taking up room, you have one compact footprint. The build quality is impressive—the tempered glass base and solid steel pole inspire confidence. The independent articulation means you can angle each screen perfectly for your workflow, whether you’re coding, designing, or trading. It turns a crowded desk into a streamlined command center.

Best For

Anyone with two monitors on an IKEA desk who is struggling with clutter and limited surface area. It’s also ideal for users with a large ultrawide as a primary and a secondary portrait monitor for coding or documents.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Massive space saver by stacking monitors vertically.
  • Very stable construction with a heavy glass base.
  • Full independent motion for each screen.
  • Clean, minimalist look that complements IKEA design.
Cons:
  • The vertical arrangement means the top monitor will be higher; may not suit all ergonomic preferences.
  • Height range is fixed by the pole length; no up/down adjustment for the entire assembly.
  • Can be tricky to route cables neatly to the top monitor.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Great product quick delivery. Only downside of it is the height and lack of adjustment for support. I wish i could lower it a bit as it is a little too tall to put on my desk as the ceiling slopes on one side. Works great on the other side of my desk with 2 32inch monitors though. Monitors are easy to attach and easy to move and adjust. Locks in securely. Monitors can swive up and down as well as side to sie with ease or can be locked in tight to a position, which i prefer. If you are going to tilt the top monitor down, I would suggest using the provided spacers on the top monitors so the edges of the monitors meet at the middle.”

Customer Review: “Didn’t actually realize the base was a nice shatter resistant / tempered glass! The stand itself is fully metal and super thick, so zero concerns at all about the monitors. Had a slight scare when mounting my top one, because you really want to make sure the “claws” go fully into the slots on the mount before you’re able to attach the set screw, as I almost had mine slide out. Once the set screw is in, there’s no way it can fall. Super adjustable and was able to basically eliminate a bottom bezel on the upper monitor because I have it slightly tilted and positioned visually below the top bezel on the lower monitor. Looks great on the desk and allows for a ton of extra space now!”

8. AMERIERGO Dual Monitor Stand Riser

AMERIERGO Adjustable Dual Monitor Stand Riser with 2 Slots for Desktop

This is a large, adjustable wooden riser designed to hold two monitors side-by-side on your IKEA desk. Unlike a mount, it sits directly on your desk surface. Its key feature is its adjustable length—it can extend from 29.13 inches to 40.9 inches to accommodate different monitor setups. It also features two slots that allow you to angle the monitors slightly towards each other for a more immersive, curved viewing experience.

Key Features That Stand Out

  • ✓ Adjustable length (29.13″ – 40.9″) to fit various monitor setups
  • ✓ Two angled slots to create a subtle curved display arrangement
  • ✓ Sturdy wood construction with a high weight capacity (55 lbs)
  • ✓ Provides a solid 2-inch height boost for both monitors
  • ✓ Large surface area also fits a laptop or tablet

Why We Recommend It

This stand is perfect for IKEA desk users with two standard monitors who want a simple, non-clamping solution that still improves ergonomics. The adjustable length is incredibly useful, ensuring it fits perfectly on your LINNMON or ALEX tabletop. The angled slots are a clever touch, reducing the gap between screens and creating a more unified visual field without the cost or complexity of a dual-arm mount.

Best For

Dual-monitor users with screens 24 inches and below who want a simple, stable riser that also helps angle the screens inward. It’s a great middle ground between a single riser and a full dual-arm mount.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Adjustable width ensures a perfect fit for your specific monitor arrangement.
  • Angled slots create a more immersive, bezel-less feeling.
  • No installation required—just place it on your desk.
  • Sturdy wood build with a high weight capacity.
Cons:
  • Takes up a significant amount of desk surface area front-to-back.
  • Only provides a fixed 2-inch lift; not suitable if you need more height.
  • Does not free up any space underneath for a keyboard.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This dual monitor riser is exactly what I needed for my two 24-inch monitors on my IKEA desk. The adjustable length is genius—I could get the spacing just right. The angled slots do make a noticeable difference in how the screens blend together. It’s solid, looks nice, and was easy to assemble. A great simple solution.”

Customer Review: “I have two 27-inch monitors and this riser just barely fits them side-by-side at max extension. It’s very stable, and I like the slight inward angle. It raises them just enough to clear my keyboard. Not a complicated product, but it does its job well. Good build quality for the price.”

9. Amazon Basics Adjustable Monitor Stand Riser

Amazon Basics Adjustable Monitor Stand Riser with Storage Organizer

The Amazon Basics riser is the ultimate no-frills, budget-friendly solution to lift your monitor on an IKEA desk. It’s a simple plastic platform with stackable legs that give you three height options: 2.87″, 4.25″, and 4.9″. • ✓ Three stackable height settings for basic ergonomic adjustment

Complete Buying Guide for IKEA Monitor Stand

Essential Factors We Consider

Choosing the right stand for your IKEA desk involves balancing your monitor’s needs with your desk’s constraints. First, measure your monitor’s size and weight, and check its VESA mount pattern if you’re considering an arm. Second, examine your IKEA desk’s edge. Thin tabletops (like the LACK) often can’t support a heavy clamp, while thick solid wood tops (like some BEKANT models) are perfect for C-clamps. Desk depth is crucial—a freestanding stand’s base needs to fit without hanging over the edge. Finally, think about your primary goal: is it pure ergonomic adjustability, maximum space saving, aesthetic integration with IKEA’s style, or budget?

Budget Planning

You don’t need to break the bank. Basic plastic risers like the Amazon Basics model start under $15. Mid-range wooden risers with storage (like the BONTEC) sit between $25-$40. For full adjustability, clamp-on arms start around $50 and can go up to $150+ for premium gas-spring models. Freestanding poles with full motion typically range from $40-$80. Set a budget based on how much you value daily adjustability and desk space. Remember, a good stand is an investment in your long-term comfort and productivity.

Final Thoughts

Your IKEA desk is a fantastic, modular canvas. The right monitor stand completes the picture, transforming it into a truly ergonomic and efficient workstation. Whether you need the space-saving genius of an under-desk clamp, the adjustability of a gas spring arm, or the simple elegance of a wooden riser, there’s a perfect match for your specific IKEA model and work style. Prioritize stability and compatibility with your monitor’s size, and you’ll enjoy a healthier, more organized workspace for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will a clamp-on monitor stand damage my IKEA desk surface?

A: Quality clamp-on stands from brands like ErGear or WALI use padded, wide-contact clamps that distribute pressure evenly. They should not damage a standard IKEA tabletop (like LINNMON or BEKANT) when installed correctly and not overtightened. However, always check your desk’s edge thickness against the clamp’s specifications. Very thin or fragile edges (like some LACK models) may be at higher risk.

Q: What’s the difference between a freestanding stand and a clamp-on arm?

A: A freestanding stand has its own weighted base and sits on your desk. It’s portable and doesn’t attach to the desk, making it safe for any surface but uses more desk space. A clamp-on arm attaches to the edge or a grommet hole in your desk, freeing up 100% of the desk surface underneath. It’s more permanent and offers superior space savings but requires a compatible desk edge.

Q: My IKEA desk has a grommet hole. Can I use any stand?

A: If your desk has a pre-drilled grommet hole (like many BEKANT or ALEX models), you can use stands that offer a grommet mounting kit. Many clamp-on arms (like the ErGear) include this option. This is often the most secure and clean-looking method, as the pole goes through the hole and is secured underneath.

Q: How high should my monitor be for proper ergonomics?

A: The top of your monitor screen should be at or slightly below eye level. When looking straight ahead, your gaze should land on the upper third of the screen. Your stand should allow you to achieve this position without you having to tilt your head up or down. Use the stand’s height and tilt adjustments to find this neutral posture.

Q: Are wooden risers stable for large monitors?

A: Wooden risers like the BONTEC are generally stable for monitors up to 24-27 inches, provided the weight is within their rated capacity (usually 30-50 lbs). For very large, heavy ultrawide monitors (32″+), a metal-based freestanding stand or a clamp-on arm is a safer bet for long-term stability, as the center of gravity is higher and further forward.
